Solving Disputes with Governments: Alternatives to Traditional Court Systems
Relations with governments, like any relationship, go through crises, whether the result of a misunderstanding, miscommunication or simply a misconduct of one of the parties. Regardless of the reason, they need to be resolved. Handling crises is one of the main headaches, not only for GR teams, but also for legal teams and top management.
Not every country of the CEE region has an advanced and developed court system. Even in countries where the judiciary is well established, companies tend to turn to the courts as a last resort.
Before they do, their GR teams are busy trying every possible mechanism to solve the crisis amicably, through negotiations or alternative dispute resolution tools. Our speaker represents one of them, the Business Ombudsman Council of Ukraine, which was set up in 2014 by Government Decree.
In this interview Iaroslav Gregirchak will share his knowledge and practical tips for GR professionals on:
- Using alternative dispute resolution tools in various countries of the CEE region;
- The advantages of alternative tools compared to traditional court systems;
- Case studies of successful dispute resolution.
