Public Affairs has been one of the most conservative professions in the world. Using in-person meetings, coalitions, stakeholder mapping and other tools we all know how public affairs executives and consultants have been trying to advance the interests of big corporations in the government sector.
Yet, the changes that have occurred in the world in the last decade, including the social media revolution, rising sustainability movement and climate change threat, coupled with last year’s COVID-19 pandemic, have deeply changed corporate demands of public affairs and policy work.
In our interview with Marek Matraszek, a public affairs guru who started his career in the early 1990s, we are going to talk about:
- The evolution of the public affairs profession over the last decade;
- New challenges clients and the regulatory environment are presenting to government relations professionals;
- A vision for public affairs consultancy in the upcoming decade.
